Could you help a child get a good start in life, growing up in a loving and caring family? Brighton and Hove Fostering Service recruits, trains and supports foster carers and adopters and finds families for Brighton & Hove children that need a foster home or an adoptive family.

They are always in need of foster parents and now could be the moment that you can be a foster carer.

An Information session is being held on Tuesday 29th November at Church House, 211 New Church Road, Hove BN3 4ED from 7pm to 9pm

The idea of this session is to give you an opportunity to find out more about fostering, meet members of the Fostering Team and hear from people currently fostering for Brighton and Hove about their experiences of fostering, both the rewards and the challenges. There will also be an opportunity for you to ask any individual questions you may have.

The team is seeking foster carers for children of all ages, but at present the team members are looking in particular for foster carers:

  • for older children, 10 years plus
  • for children under 5 years of age
  • for a parent and their baby for sibling groups

The team are also looking for people from our Black and Asian communities to care for children of all ages as it is felt that it is important that all children are placed with foster carers that reflect their ethnic and cultural background.

To enable this there is a dedicated Recruitment Officer for Black and minority ethnic foster carers. Her name is Virginia Collison and she can be contacted directly by email virginia.collison@brighton-hove.gov.uk or at our office number.

There is a Foster Parents Handbook online, and a video of foster parents from Brighton and Hove talking about their experiences.

Interested? To find out more you can either telephone the Fostering Service on 01273 295444 or complete the enquiry form here
