Twitter spat over Amex Stadium extension

The great thing about Twitter is you can eavesdrop on other people's arguments. (Well, one of the great things...) Recently the former leader of Brighton and Hove Council Lord Bassam and Jason Kitkat, currently a Councillor in the Green Administration, have been having a public spat over plans to build an extra 1,000 parking spaces near the Amex stadium.
-
Brighton and Hove Albion's Amex Stadium – the plans are for an extra 8,000 seats, and an extra 1000 parking spaces
Lord Bassam to Jason Kitkat: @jasonkitcat I sense a climbdown or Uturn and a bit of panic. If by exposing your hidden agenda we get a result happy for that
Jason Kitkat to Lord Bassam: @SteveTheQuip We had concerns about location, we were never against stadium in principle, though you like to suggest it was so
Lord Bassam to Jason Kitkat: @jasonkitcat We need fan power #BHAFC to bombard Greens to get them to backtrack on this daft decision
Lord Bassam says the Greens are stopping the expansion of the stadium – an extra 8,000 seats are planned – as more parking is an important part of the scheme. Councillor Kitcat, the cabinet member for finance, says other transport ideas are being pursued – but with a 2,000 fan waiting list for season tickets, and the club riding high in the league, the pressure will be on Mr K and the Greens.
If you're one of the twitterati follow @SteveTheQuip and @jasonkitcat and see the argument develop.

Do we need more parking spaces given that it is right next to Falmer train station?
