Does anyone read those seafront signs? Have you ever seen anyone even looking at them? A blogpost I saw this morning makes the point that the new one not only spoils the view, but is a complete waste of time and money as nobody looks at them, and seems to go against the council's attempts to reduce signs from estate agents and clean up the environment. And also:

"To add insult to injury the amount of useful information on the sign is negligible. Most of it is in the tone of a scolding nanny. "Do not jump. Do not dive". The sea can be rough, the beach can be steep, don't go into deep water if you can't swim. And does anyone really not know to dial 999 in an emergency, or to stay out of the sun if they don't want to get sunburned?"

Could have a point. Have you ever seen anyone looking at them? http://tinyurl.com/66beeq2

I'm all for seafront information boards - I'm sure visitors find them useful. Although the signs requesting no bbq's on Hove Lawns generally gets ignored by a few.

a FEW? Loads of them, blithely ignoring the signs. Have you seen all those horrible brown patches on the lawns which remain for months after they've pushed off? They should be rounded up, put in pens, and forced to watch The X Factor on a loop until they scream pitifully for release...
