  • 5.16pm... I mean, it's always lovely, but this was a glorious one
  • 5.18pm... a massive burst of light, dazzling on the sea, almost too much for the camera to cope with
  • 5.25pm... a few minutes later, strange and rather mysterious, on the evening of a day of genuine good news – the day the miners came out
