It's another world. Try if you can to get an allotment at Weald or help out someone who has one – it's big enough to feel you're in the country - almost - and people are so friendly and helpful. There's a shop which sells useful stuff like compost so you can just run your wheelbarrow over and pick up a good load. They're trying to find more space by splitting allotments in half now. That still makes a good space to grow your veg. We've got a small 'garden' (yard or sliver might be more accurate) and an allotment gives an extra dimension to living in Hove. There's some good pics of the latest Open Garden and Sheds Day...if I say so myself...on the Hove People site...click on PICTURES above and see some nice folk in their element...
